Yesterday on our walk at Ynys-hir we saw 2 Lesser Redpoll as well as Goldfinch, Bullfinch and Goldcrest. Later, at Upper Borth I saw my first 2 Swallows of the year flying North.
Today at Upper Borth there were 7 Wheatear in the field to the South of the memorial. Further along the footpath towards Clarach, as we ate our lunch we watched 12 Chough grubbing around in a field. As we returned, near the gate from the footpath back onto the road I was amazed to see a pair of Mandarin Ducks on one of the rocks below us. We watched them for a few minutes before they took off and flew south.
