Nice Day Out

Meurig and I began the day along the prom at Aberystwyth where we saw the now regular 20 Turnstones which were at Castle Point with one of the 17 Purple Sandpipers. They were between the wooden jetty and the prom wall by the castle.
At Tanybwlch, near the sheds, were 10 Wheatears enjoying the warm sunshine.
We then headed inland to a spot that Meurig keeps an eye on which had Curlews, Lapwings and Golden Plovers.
A brief visit to Cors Caron from the Ystrad Meurig end produced a singing Willow Tit from one of the first trees we came across.
It was now a bit too warm to walk far and we headed back to Aber to see if Bob's Mandarin Ducks had settled on College Rocks. No sign of them (but we believe you Bob), but plenty of students in skimpy summer clothes, a white donkey having a paddle and a beach full of people; all a bit surreal. March 24th?!!!
