Yesterday at Llanrhystud, sand martins flying between the bare earth patches and their tunnels in the bank, eight whimbrels and 12 ringed plover. I don't know what a dead dogfish was doing on the path at the lime lilns!
On the way down on the bends going into L'rhystud, saw a yellow vehicle which I took to be Ceredigion County Council with a man with a spray lance who when I passed was leaning over the hedge spraying brambles. This doesn't seem very environmentally friendly and if it interfered wuth bird nests, illegal. I notice too that a lot of verges have been cut. Other councils have verge-cutting policies.
