MORE ON GULLS

Last Wednesday Chris Bird found one of the two colour-ringed Black-headed Gulls from a colony in Berkshire which had spent much of the winter and spring at Aberystwyth (see below).
Amazingly, yesterday he found the other one, white ring 22C7, on College Rocks.
So, having been ringed as nestlings at the same site in Berkshire, they both came to Aber for their first winter and spring, presumably they then drifted off somewhere, perhaps back to Berkshire and they have came back to Aber. (The town has a spooky hold over so many people, myself included and other creatures are clearly also affected/afflicted!)
Anyway, do keep a lookout for these and any other colour-ringed gulls and let the ringing groups know, either by googling Euring or via me.
