Really wet walk!

The weather dictated a change in plan today so a small but hardy band went up the other valley at Strata and saw 35 species,( most during a brief interlude in the downpour) including crossbills and a goshawk!
Although we remarked how good it would have been in May the wet woods were nevertheless, magical. Surprisingly small moths were flying and during dry spells the midges got into gear; just as well there were some young swallows on the wing.
