In the harbour early this evening was a gathering of Black-headed Gulls and one Mediterranean Gull. One of the Black-headed had the white ring marked 27C8, one of the 2 similarly marked gulls Chris Bird noticed there last month. Both spent much of the last winter at Aberystwyth. They are now just over a year old. They were not seen in the Spring back at the nesting colony in Berkshire from whence they came. Wherever they went to, they are now back with us. Perhaps they will return to their Berkshire lake next Spring.
