I saw my first Starling 'intake' of this season, true to form, they are always very close to the seasonal 'turning of the clock'. Also, this morning one male blackbird whose beak seemed to be changing colour and another with beak (still?) black. We'll see what develops, as I saw another one with a black bill down the village yesterday.
