An eventful four and a half hour seawatch from the fish factory. Very good numbers of the usual species around, with a feeding flock of 280 Kittiwakes, 30 Gannets and 300 Manx Shearwaters offshore (all numbers very approximate) in addition to a steady passage of these species.
After nearly three hours I picked out the first Storm Petrel, followed by four more in about an hour.
Other highlights included a total of 82 Common Scoters, two Mediterranean Gulls (2nd S and ad S) and a Kestrel.
At one point, my attention was drawn away from the sea by the sound of Choughs calling overhead. Looked up to see five, but there may have been more: by the time I had dashed round the other side of the building they had gone.
Bird of the day was my first live Puffin in Ceredigion, though I did find a dead one on the beach at Llansantffraed a few years ago.
P.S.
After the first stormy, I sent a text to the usual suspects but later my mobile informed me that the message sending had failed and inviting me to try again, which I did with the same result.
