Like Russell I made an early start and was at Castle Point at 6:45 staring at an almost birdless sea. After watching three Sandwich Terns feeding for a while and a passing Porpoise I gave up on the sea and counted the waders: 13 Turnstones, 9 Ringed Plovers, 26 Oystercatchers and 2 Sanderlings.
At Tanybwlch, lots of Pied Wagtails (no white), Meadow and Rock Pipits and at least 4 Wheatears along the shore and beach, plus 48 Oystercatchers, 27 Ringed Plover, 10 Sanderling, a Turnstone and a Mediterranean Gull.
