Chough at Mwnt and Teifi birds

After a successful - (but with low numbers of birds) Ringing Demonstration this morning on the Teifi, an evening trip to Mwnt to relax and watch what goes by....as you do !
In c 1 hour this evening, 9 Common Scoter, 3+ Bottle-nosed Dolphins feeding under the Gannets, and it seems ever increasing numbers of rafting Manx Shearwaters close inshore.

Not until home did  I realise the significance of the 16 strong flock of Chough feeding around me. Only 4 were colour-ringed, which seemed a surprise, but looking through the 2009/2010 Ceredigion Bird Reports, this would rank as the 2nd largest group if noted in those years.....though Birds of Ceredigion mentions roosts of over 50 birds in recent years.

Teifi;-
In the last 24 hours, Green Sandpiper, Common Sandpipers, Whimbrel, c100 Curlew, Redshank, Sanderlings, Dunlins, Ringed Plovers, Turnstones, Black-tailed Godwits are all to be seen around the estuary, with significant numbers of Oystercatchers moving through.
