Tregaron Bog

Did a quick once around the board walk today and caught up with two of the hobbies, both first summers, and a couple of juvenile kestrels.  The lapwing post breeding flock is up to about 50 birds.  I only saw the flock in flight and couldn't say how many juvenile birds were present, but there seemed to be very few.  This is a species in real danger and with just a few hundred pairs left in Wales poor breeding seasons are a real issue as there are not enough young being raised to sustain the population.  On a brighter note other waders included a flyover green sandpiper and greenshank.
