Ynys-hir this morning

Great views of an osprey from Marian Mawr hide during the Wednesday morning walk at RSPB Ynys-hir this morning.  The bird flew down river and landed on a piece of drift-wood directly opposite the far end of the hide.  I don't think it was young Ceulan - no ring or transmitter visible through my scope.  At the end of the walk we were lucky enough to be able to scope another great bird, the wood sandpiper was still showing very well on the pond in front of the visitor centre.
Earlier I watched a little grebe chick, like a tiny bundle of fluff poking out between the wings on the back of an adult swimming around quite close to the nearest edge of the pond.
