Interesting that Matt Potter noted a family of Whooper Swans and a lone Mute Swan on Llywernog Pond by Nant yr Arian this week. Yesterday a similar family of Whoopers, or perhaps the same, with two young were on Bwlchcryws Pond with a lone Whooper Swan.
Today only the single Whooper remained but more remarkable are the 2 Scaup on this little lake. Chris Bird mentioned to me that his brother Nigel thought he saw one there last weekend. Yesterday evening (Friday), in poor light, I thought there were 2 there and this morning I was pretty sure. This afternoon Chris confirmed the presence of 2 imm female Scaup there!
