There are at least two Bramblings visiting my garden this morning, I've seen a male and a female.
Usually the first birds to visit after I refill the seed feeder are Jackdaws. Like hoodlums from West Side Story they come charging in - "Like a bat out of hell"!
Nobody else gets a look-in while they're attempting to emulate the smaller birds, ie clinging on to the feeders to extract seed, but these bad-tempered corvids soon have to admit defeat and depart with ill grace.
Actually I think all corvids are very handsome and interesting, especially Jackdaws.
