I do like to be beside the seaside
Read Arfons' blog from Saturday and headed back to the coast this morning. From the stubble at Llannon to the caravan park at Llanrhystud the fields thronged with birds. I've never seen so many there before. For those of you who like your descriptions of nature to be poetical and lyrical please forgive me and log off now. For everyone else, here is a list of numbers.
Skylark 500, Golden Plover 600, Lapwing 700, Stonechat 12, Song Thrush 60, Goosander, Shelduck, Peregrine, Chough 2. Twelve species of wader inc. Bar-tailed Godwit, Sanderling 2, Redshank 15, Dunlin 20 and Grey Plover 17. Best of all was a Black Redstart which popped up in front of me from the low cliff near the car park as I walked out to scan the stubble fields at Llannon.
