LITTLE GULLS

Helen Herbert noted 2 adults and 2 first winter birds at South Beach, Aberystwyth this morning. Later I was at Clarach and in fine sunshine was able to take a few pics of some of the 5 first winter birds which were foraging over and just beyond the breaking waves.

This one shows how much smaller they are than Black-headed Gulls.

Postscript: Harry subsequently called in at Clarach where 4 of the birds were still present. He then went to South Beach at Aberystwyth to find 3 adults and 2 first winter birds. So, at least 9 were about.
Earlier Harry had been to Cors Caron and seen a male Hen Harrier and a gathering of 29 Stock Doves.
