Ynyslas today - no snow but cold!!!

The Water Pipit was still in the soggy field by Ynyslas Boatyard this afternoon, with 3 Meadow Pipits and a Pied Wagtail - nice close views by the track. North wind too cold for much other bird activity though: a single Little Egret and a handful of Teal on Glandwr pools; a few Curlew plus two Little Grebes along the Leri, and just the usual Rock Pipit in Ynyslas Turn carpark.  The spray blowing from the tops of the breakers offshore was spectacular, but not a lot of birds!

My notes for 23 March last year describe a warm spring day, with mass arrival of Chiffchaffs singing everywhere....
