YNYSLAS

Been out doing a bit of early birding Saturday morning. Some excellent spring migration underway off at Yns-las and the Dyfi estuary area.

Yns-Las Turn Car park: 20+Sandwich Tern close in offshore and 15 on the beach, 1 summer plumaged Slavonian Grebe, 2 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Long-tailed Duck(Male), 6 Common Scoter, 1 Red-thraoted Diver all present offshore.
Also on golf course, singing Skylark and 10 Wheatear, good passage of aprox 70+ Swallow and Sand Martin flying North.

Dyfi estuary: 1 Osprey out on estuary, 5 Greenland White-fronted Geese, several Shelduck and Ringed Plover.

Had possible 3 Shore Lark on golf course at Turn Car park 8.50am but unfortunately flushed by some walkers. I had brief views as birds flew from inf ront of me and headed towards Borth town. Main ID features seen, showed yellowish head, brown body with striking black eye stipe, dark throat like patch and tufts on head and overall very pale underside as birds flew overhead.

Sent to me yesterday by Brendan Sheils.
