Along the mountain road from Ponterwyd to Penrhyncoch yesterday afternoon were several pairs of Whinchats, a sole pair of Stonechats and numerous Wrens amongst the 'recently felled' forestry brash. On Banc Syfydrin, whilst watching one of the few Mippits to be seen,
a Cuckoo swept along the hillside, dropped down into the heather and grass, much to the consternation of the Mippits, down for a short while then off. Was it a late female depositing an egg in the nest of the Pippit?
