A comment in response to the note by Ian Morris on Hobby. By now the Hobby will have quite large young and they should fledge around the end of the month. Therefore any adult birds seen now will be feeding young locally so there should be a nest nearby. The first few days of August are a great time to look for Hobby young as they and the adults become very noisy.
I reckon we have more pairs in Wales than we realise.
