Dead sheep twitch and Curlew Sandpiper

I am not a twitcher so I left it a few days before venturing to Llanrhysted to view Ian Morris' sheep. No sign of it. Ian, are you sure it was a) a sheep and b) dead?
On the strandline at high tide were over 30 ringed plover with one turnstone and a few dunlin; Toffy's appearance shifted them down a few yards and, alerted by sight of a white rump, on closer inspection there was a beautiful curlew sandpiper.
At the kilns lots of small birds with chiffchaff and blackcaps joining the residents.
Opposite Ty Gwyn pools, which were heaving in tame mallard and surrounded by pheasants, there was a Peregrine sitting on a pylon looking a bit plump; not likely to eaten the sheep so guess its feeding on mallard.. if they ever fly.
