Early this morning there were 29 Turnstones on the beach by the castle. Later, at Tanybwlch, a couple of Wheatears on the beach.
At the far end of the pebble bank I got Arfon's message that on the stubble fields at Llanon were 2 Wheatears, 4 Lapland Buntings and a Short-toed Lark.
I joined Arfon as quickly as possible and had several views of at least 3 of the Buntings. He had another view of the Lark and what he saw and heard should be enough to get this accepted as the 2nd record of this species in Ceredigion.
Offshore, 3 Gannets and around 20 Wigeon on the sea.
