Ynyslas this afternoon

This afternoon at Ynyslas we had three wheatear on the fields between the boatyard and the golf course. As we scanned the Leri banks for waders from the road bridge, this obliging otter popped up and enjoyed its crab supper right in front of us.
By the water treatment facility at Borth good numbers of linnets (50+), starlings, pied wagtails and chaffinches were in the sheep field, whilst by the banks of the river Leri a mixed flock of long-tailed, blue, great and coal tits included at least one chiffchaff and two willow warblers, but unfortunately not the hoped for YBW! As noted by other contributors there are a lot of singing robins around.
