You're going the wrong way!
Redwings and a few Fieldfares were flying roughly NE over Henllan/Penrhiwllan when I was at work on Friday. A few winters back I remember seeing a very large number heading in the same direction over Llanfair at this time of year rather as described by David Price just up the valley in Llanddewi. Forgive me if I've asked this question on the blog before, but surely this is the opposite direction to the way one would expect? If they are arriving from Iceland or Scandinavia have they overshot and are re-orientating themselves or perhaps they navigate down the Irish Sea then head inland as part of a normal migration strategy? Or......
