The warm weather

In previous years on this blog there has been a lot of discussion about the effects of the severe cold and snow during those harsh winters. But I wonder what effect this mild weather is having? Went for a walk near Llanfair Clydogau this morning. Song Thrushes, often rather scarce hereabouts in winter, were in full song. Stumbled upon five flocks of Long-tailed Tits which seemed more than usual, perhaps because they have survived in better numbers. Redwings and Fieldfares were absent entirely.
