At this time of year there is only one place to be for easy to see birds and that is YNYS LAS!
JULY:
Meet Red Liford in the beach carpark SUN JULY 13th (pay £1 at the visitor centre and get a ticket first please) at 9am for a morning birding. In the afternoon, starting at 1pm he will be searching the dunes for plants and insects. You are welcome to join either or both sessions. Details in the Field trips section opposite.
AUGUST:
Another visit to Ynys Las but for a new experience we are going to be on the dunes overlooking the mouth of the estuary for a very high tide which should drive plenty of waders and terns close to us IN THE EVENING. SUN AUG 10th 19:30hrs for a 20:45hrs tide.
If we are lucky the scene will include a sunset and lots of swirling birds and hopefully no dog walkers who by then will all be exhausted (tho' probably not the dogs!).
