Highlights from the coordinated count of waders and wildfowl carried out by RSPB Ynys-hir staff on the estuary were as follows: Ynyslas section: 1 male long-tailed duck. Leri section: 1040 wigeon, 171 shelduck, 870 oystercatcher, 173 pintail and 3 greenshank. Clettwr section: 481 wigeon, 110 shelduck. RSPB Ynys-hir section: 2 gadwall, 21 little egret, 807 lapwing, 3 greenshank, 1 spotted redshank, 15 black-tailed godwit.
