An early start at Aber, where this Redshank at Castle Point then joined 38 Turnstones on the beach. Just round the corner, seven Purple Sandpipers on the wall. Offshore, just a Red-throated Diver in summer plumage. A Peregrine posed on Consti.
After checking the sea at Borth (110 Common Scoter min), I continued to the Clettwr to meet up with Bob.
Skylarks sang and Lapwings displayed as we walked along the river. Also at least 20 Redshank around. Lingering winter birds were ca50 Barnacle Geese and at least 500 Golden Plover.
At the railway bridge, two Wheatears were migrating along the line, a party of ca15 Pintail flew up the Dyfi and a Great Crested Grebe drifted downstream.
We finished off with a walk up Cwm Clettwr, a bird free zone today
