Black Redstart getting around town
For Good Friday the Aberystwyth churches got together today for a joint outdoor service in Baker Street. Being familiar with our Old College/St Michael's Church bird, a friend spotted a black redstart fly-catching around the ivy at the back of the adjacent Bethel chapel graveyard. On checking it out I found it was indeed the Old College male, with ring and injured leg. He was still in the graveyard an hour later, sitting in the sun atop a gravestone - I wonder how large his "home" range is?
