New Quay

There was a Black Redstart in ‘residence’ under the vertical drop below the lookout at Birds rock at the start of the  year. I saw another at Castell Bach on 7^th March (both females so could have been the same bird). My 1^st swallow 25^th March over the house. On the 3^rd April there was an Iceland Gull amongst the usual suspects at the fish factory. It seemed to be close to maturity – 3^rd yr. ? On the same day the local pair of Peregrines were very active and seemed to be partaking in aerial courtship.
