Whimbrel off Aberystwyth

The highlight of a  seawatch from the castle this morning was my first Whimbrel of the year, flying south close inshore, followed by a Swallow heading north.
Also passing were a Gannet, three Shelduck, six Common Scoter, a Goosander and a Fulmar,
Four Purple Sandpipers on the wall and 17 Turnstones near the point. one of which had caught my eye earlier as it took a stroll along the prom.
Later, a Willow Warbler was singing by the river in Llanilar.
