Having failed to find any Hobbies on a walk round the boardwalk yesterday afternoon, I'd just started back towards Tregaron when one flew over my car, heading for the bog. Quickly parked in the layby near the S end of the boardwalk and headed back out, to watch it circling low overhead - a juv or 1st summer, lacking red on the underparts. It thermalled upwards and then dashed rapidly to join three more birds that had come in unseen while I was watching it - all four then headed high northwards out of sight. Very smart! Presumably some of the same birds that Liz reported yesterday?
Also nice close views of a family of Willow Tits along the railway track near the carpark.
