Normally there is just the one grey heron that drops in and hangs about on the
waters edge hoping to spear a tasty breakfast. This morning a second heron
followed close behind and a serious squabble took place with lots of
flapping.
The first heron stood its ground and had to off soggy wings while the
interloper took off and inadvertently startled the dipper. We had a view of the
dipper a few days ago but nice to know it's back more or in the same place and
the same time as last year.
