Another fantastic day on the
reserve. Long-tailed duck and water pipit still on Marian Mawr pools and
red-breasted goose, 18 Greenland white-fronted geese and a spotted redshank on
the Breakwater fields.
The Greenland white-fronts were only 50 metres
away-amazing views. A lone chiffchaff called from the reedbed. Red was also out
today and got these and an additional Med gull and hen harrier. With a
supporting cast of peregrine, green and common sandpipers and kingfishers as
well as excellent views of peregrine, teal, wigeon, shoveller and pintail the
reserve is having an excellent run of form.
