Ups and downs of birding

Before leaving to go out birding yesterday afternoon I noticed that my scope had no lens attached. A quick drive back to Llanrhystud revealed that it had spent the night on the beach and had been inundated with rainwater. I would not recommend Hawke spotting scopes, they fall apart and spares aren't available!

A quick stop off at a lay-by south of Blaenplwyf was somewhat of a consolation. 9 Chough, a female Merlin, a cracking Fox encounter and a bit of breeding activity from some Newts.

Also looking for a new scope around the £600-£800 mark. If anybody has any info, please contact me!
