completely warbled out

Cross Inn Forest is warbler heaven at this time of year. As Andy mentioned yesterday, Wood Warbler also present. There were two singing this morning in the conifers near the usual entrance, the first I've seen there since 2012. A Grasshopper Warbler was reeling loudly next to the road back a little way towards the crossroads and another was in the marshy area a bit beyond the Shrike area. 3 Sedge Warblers were over the road near the bottling plant. 2 Cuckoos also. I've offered to lead walk at Cross Inn on July 9th. Things will be rather quiet and skulky by then but I hope it will be an interesting introduction for anyone who is unfamiliar with the site. Elaine will put details on the blog soon.
