Ynyslas, Thursday

At high tide yesterday morning the King Eider was still present around the mouth of the Leri, a Black-tailed Godwit flew over and a Whimbrel was sat on the saltmarsh. This evening the King Eider was flushed by a boat, and proceeded to fly a long way up the estuary until I lost view of it.
The newly ploughed field at Ynys Tachwedd produced 10 Lapwing, a Stock Dove, a juvenile Wheatear, a Common Gull and a couple of Meds. The highlight of the day however was a juvenile Redstart in the scrub along the Ynyslas Boatyard path, definitely a site first for me.
