Aberystwyth and points north

Last night's drop in temperature brought a bigger selection of waders than usual to the Castle Point area, where I was joined by Tim Griffiths from round Pontypool way.
Apart from the usual Ringed Plovers, Turnstones and Oystercatchers, between us we found two Knot, three Lapwings, Redshank and Dunlin.  Later, two Little Egrets flew south just offshore, pursued by a group of Herring Gulls.
A dead Gannet on the beach was a reminder of recent storms.
Earlier Tim had Dipper and Kingfisher at the south end of the harbour.
Ideal conditions for scanning the sea at Borth, but all I could find was 85 Common Scoter, three Red-throated Divers and two Great Crested Grebes.  Not a Lynx in sight.
Finished up at the Glandyfi layby, where the highlights were two Green Sandpipers, a Kestrel and a Great White Egret.

I wonder if we have a record count of Great White Egrets in the county, with the two on the Teifi yesterday, one on Cors Caron and the one at Glandyfi (alright, across the Dyfi and so out of county, but it must have been in Ceredigion at some time.)
