I went outside the house to
water plants just after 10 yesterday evening (north end of Taliesin). There
were two cuckoos singing, one from the wood to the east of the village and one
from the near end of Borth Bog. Also, from the nearest point of Borth Bog was a
nightjar churring. I walked over to investigate and the bird was churring from
somewhere just behind the willow carr, approximately 200m down the coast path.
This will definitely be a different bird from the ones I reported before, which
are at the far end of this block of carr, probably three quarters of a mile to
the south. So, it appears there at least two pairs on the east side of the
bog. A nice bird to hear from the garden!
