Aberystwyth

John and I spent a pleasant session at Castle Point this morning, with a flat calm sea and excellent visibility. Two Bottle-nosed Dolphins loitered in South Bay throughout, with another three well offshore.  Not much else out there, just a few Gannets and Manx Shearwaters and the usual gulls.
A party of 25 Canada Geese drifted in from the north and eventually flew off south.
An adult Sandwich Tern and its youngster spent some time on the rocks and a Turnstone was on the outer rock.
Finally, bit of teamwork.  John heard a Dunlin call and I managed to get bins onto it as it sped by offshore.

P.S.  A neighbour of John's came along and told us that he had had a family party of four Kingfishers in the harbour earlier in the week.
