Cere Birdwalk/Wader watch on Monday 13th Aug

A few of us gathered on the point at Ynys las and spent an interesting few hours waiting for something other than Sandwich Terns, Dunlin and R.Plovers to turn up!  Not as good as on the Sunday but a rusty fronted Knot enlivened the proceedings. There were also 5 Common Gulls returning to our shores and just 4 Sanderling.
Along on the saltings were 3 Little Egrets and 3 Whimbrel, a few linnets, the odd Pied Wagtail, crows and gulls with a row of 20+ Cormorants waving their wings.
Elaine saw a Whitethroat and Stonechats in the dunes and back at the carpark (thankyou wardens at NRW Ynys Las) there were, during a brief glimpse of sunshine, a nice collection of butterflies on the Ragwort.
As all eyes were focussed on checking all the Dunlin for a Curlew Sand we may not have noticed other birds flying about though as we left there were Manxies way offshore with a few Gannets.
We were fortunately undisturbed by dog walkers!
