Around the Dyfi

Saturday.  Starting at Ynys-hir, where highlights included spotted redshank, greenshank, 7 black-tailed godwits, 2 knot, 2 Dunlin, distant Greenland white-fronted geese, lots of displaying lapwing and redshank, brimstone and peacock butterflies, 3 red-breasted merganser, all from the Ynys feurig hide, 20 roosting little egrets directly in front of the domen las hide, lots of singing chiffchaffs, 3 goldeneye and 3 redwing elsewhere on the reserve.

Dipper at the mouth of the freshwater Clettwr. We got to Ynyslas around 1.30 at which time the earlier reported vis mig had ceased completely, with ca 200 golden plovers remaining on the salting.

A grass snake was a nice surprise on Cors Fochno, and there were 4 common scoter from Borth lifeboat station. Finally, a single shag on Castle rocks in Aberystwyth.
