Vismig highlights from Ynyslas this morning include 2 House Martins, 5 Sandwich Terns, 362 Meadow Pipits, 120 Linnets, 136 Goldfinches, 2 Merlins and a steady trickle of Swallows and Sand Martins. A female Scaup flew south offshore and the Queen Eider flew into the estuary just before 9:00am. 2 Velvet Scoter were off the brickhouse and 4 Wheatears were at Ynyslas also.

The scrub around Pen Dinas was humming with birds including around 25 Chiffchaffs, 5 Blackcaps (3 singing males), 4-5 Greenfinches (1 singing male), Bullfinches, Goldfinches, Chaffinches, Linnets, 2 Wheatears, 6 Stonechats, Sand Martins moving through and to top it off a Barn Owl flushed out from the side of the path. Less going on during a brief visit to Llanrhystud with 12 Curlews, c.15 Ringed Plovers, 2 Med Gulls and the same steady movement of Swallows and Sand Martins that I had seen further up the coast.
