The Great White Egret has been on the
edges of Pant Pond or the adjacent rough pasture for the past month. Sometimes
it is on the banks of the small bay at the far end and is difficult to see even
with a scope from the side of the road. There is sometimes a bit of contention
between this bird and the Grey herons.
Early in the month Little Egrets were
displaying on the edge of the pond and spending time on the willows in the
adjacent rough pasture but disappeared when the cattle were let out
