Well, mostly hirundines. During my daily exercise at Llanilar this afternoon a few Swallows began to come through, all heading West. Soon the rate increased and House Martins began to appear.
Deciding that exercise was over-rated I made my way to a place on the riverbank with a good all-round view and settled down to enjoy the passage.
Difficult to count with any accuracy as the birds were all over the place but in 45 min around 130 House Martins and 100 plus Swallows went through, from which I managed to pick out six Sand Martins and, best of all, three Swifts.
