A look at the Teifi estuary this evening was rewarded with more Common Terns than I have ever seen there. Initially 32 on a sandbank then as the drizzle started another 20 flew in followed by 11 Sandwich Terns. By the time I left there were at least 77 Terns but too gloomy and distant to separate species. They will presumably go with the high tide but an early morning look could be well worthwhile.
Wader numbers are increasing - 76 Ringed Plover, 60 Dunlin and 3 Sanderling. Last night 11 Redshank were new in.
A Green Sandpiper flew over the Teifi Marshes early morning.
