High tide at Ynyslas this morning had driven many birds on to Ynys Tachwedd fields. From the approach road I had 35 Curlews and ca280 Golden Plover. Drove round to the boatyard area for a better view and found minima of 1200 Canada Geese, 60 Lapwings, 55 Pintail, two Redshank and a Shoveler. Then the visibility declined as drizzle moved in, otherwise I'm sure the fields would have repaid further inspection.
Then to Glandyfi, where it was almost as murky. Worth the detour, though, as a fine male Hen Harrier was followed a few minutes later by a ringtail..
