Llansantffraed and Aberystwyth

Wife and i enjoyed a bracing short walk along coast from Llansantfraed (sewage pumping stn) to Llanon yesterday midday.1st bird was male wheatear followed by 3 ringed plover hunkered down in rocks. 5 whimbrel in all 3 in a group plus 2 singles. There were 3 good groups of turnstone mainly in flight back and forth between the rock spits at either end of the walk but i would estimate 30+ in total.couple of other ringies noted.

Speaking  of turnstone at 11.30 this am there were 15 again around the pier and then another 18 between pier and castle point rocks including 3 on the wall as per purps which i hadn't seen previously.most enjoyable
