Cross Inn Forest

 Late afternoon walk; Tuesday

Ringtail Hen Harrier (Gors Caranod) seen well 3 times quartering the bog before dark. (Really blazing white rump on this bird.)
2 Snipe put up here by the Harrier.
3 Woodcock: One overhead over forest track near dusk and two flushed together from side of track, feet away, in near darkness. (Don't know who got the bigger shock!)
Male Goshawk low over trees in gloaming near to track.
1 Bullfinch. Reed Buntings heard. Fieldfare. Redwing. Crossbills distantly heard.1 Great Spotted Woodpecker. Goldcrests and Treecreeper.

(Late post: Mon 22.11 Bwlch Nant Yr Arian:

The usual 200+ Red Kite coming for the 2pm feed.
12 Goosander on the lake.
Small numbers of Siskin and Goldfinch.
1000s of Starlings streaming through at dusk, all heading due east with purpose and speed. From the Visitors' Centre Platform this provided an amazing spectacle as they streamed overhead. Must be a big roost east of there!)
