Inland choughs

We reported an inland Chough to Adrienne last year in the Sarnau/Glynarthen area, about 3.5 miles inland. Looking at the map Llangwyrfon is more like 6 miles, so that’s even further away from the sea. Are there any old stone barns or buildings near where you saw it? The Sarnau Chough was foraging in the walls of an old barn very much in the same way the birds work the loose stones and rocks along the cliffs down here.

In other news from down south the Common Scoter flock reached a minimum of 41 birds yesterday, the Fulmars are back exploring the cliff nesting sites at Tresaith, and Liz had three Great Crested Grebes on the sea off Aberporth today.
